Bill Rowe

William was born in 1933 in Detroit, Michigan and served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-54 during the Korean Conflict.

Returning from Korea he turned to completing his education. From 1954-58, he attended the University of Detroit receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching Education. From 1958-65, he was a teacher and the local Teacher Union President. William then attended the General Motors Institute-Management Training and became an Instructor. In 1968, he returned to college and received a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. After receiving his advance degree he was hired by GTE and from 1968-72 served as their Training Director based in Sylvania, MI.

In 1972, William moved to the Badger State and began working for the University of Wisconsin System Office where he remained until he retired.

"I have been blessed with a family that loves me, acquired some teaching skills, have friendships with fellow workers and bosses that have accepted and endured, lived in a free country and am now retired in Madison. I start each day with those thoughts in mind and do my best to give back, one way is to serve on the Wisconsin Coalition of Annuitants."
