My name is Jerold R. Vreeland. I was born in North Milwaukee and attended Milwaukee Public Schools. I graduated from Washington High School and joined the U. S. Navy. In 1960, I joined the Wauwatosa Police Department.

In 1971, I was promoted to Road Supervisor. I was promoted in 1981 to Detective and retired January 1, 1993.

I received my Associates degree in 1972 and continued further studies at U.W. M. I was an instructor of Police firearms at M.A.T.C. Police academy for recruit and in service training for several years. In 1981 was elected to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association and still serve on the board. In 1968, I was elected to the board of directors of the Wauwatosa Credit Union and served until my retirement. I also was president, CEO of that credit union for several years and president of the Milwaukee chapter of credit unions.

Upon my retirement I was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Coalition of Annuitants representing the city of Wauwatosa retirees. I also attend other retirement meetings for other cities.

My wife Joan and I have been married for 47 years and have one daughter, two sons and five grandchildren. I have spent most of my retirement years babysitting for the grandchildren. I enjoy hunting, musky fishing and bowling.

In my spare time I pick-up clothing twice a week and food for the needy which are given away my churches food and clothing pantries. I also became a Stephen Minister for my church.
